Severn River Men's Rugby Football Club fields D3 and D4 15’s teams that compete in the Central North Division of the Mid-Atlantic Rugby Union and the Capital Geographic Union.

Practices are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm to 9pm at American Legion Post 175.

The Men's Club was founded over 45 years ago and has been a staple of the Mid Atlantic Rugby community ever since, enjoying a long history of success on and off the field. We play 15's throughout the Fall and Spring Competitive seasons and 7's in the Summer. We offer training and skills opportunities year round including indoor workouts.

Severn River is always recruiting players and welcomes players of all ages and skill levels to come out and be a part of the winning tradition.

Our club works to provide opportunities for development alongside competitive play and has a level of rugby suited for everyone. Athletes from all walks of life including ex-football, basketball, wrestling and track stars have joined the club and have contributed to the team’s success almost instantaneously. Collegiate rugby players often choose to come to Severn River as the Mid Atlantic has a wealth of job opportunities for up and coming professionals and we provide a network your young athletes looking to join a good team.

Our coaching staff strives to provide the highest levels of integrity in the game. They bring a wealth of knowledge and strategy that is second to none. Our head coach, William Delsing, has been helping Severn River dutifully for years now, most recently coaching the Honey Badgers to multiple playoff appearances, including an appearance in the D2 National Championship final in 2023. William had a long stint as the men’s head coach about a decade ago, also leading the men to several playoff appearances in Division 2. The South African is looking to bring back some heavy hitting and more fitness into the men’s side to take them to the next level. By his side will be an impressive coaching team featuring USA Rugby Hall of Famer Mike Flanagan, former USA Eagle and Severn River Hall of Famer Jon Holtzman, Severn River Hall of Famers Mike Posko and Pete Freeman, and veteran coach/player Mark Slifer. We strive to provide a basis of growth for our players in the sport and a personal and professional network for our athletes and fans.
